Just wanted to check it wouldn't lead to issues down the line e.g. lack of airflow to house or weepholes or something.
I was planning to use a metal one that's about 30-40cm high and leave a 10cm or so gap between the wall and garden bed. This would be for veggies.

It might bring termites
Leave enough space that you can access it easily enough should there be a need. About 60 – 70 cm would be ideal as it would also allow enough space for a wheelbarrow.
Your idea for gravel is a good one, and is commonly recommended around heritage buildings as it reduces the chance of moisture issues.
No. Foundations are at risk of heave if you are on clay soil. Termites too esp if in QLD.
You should be aiming to keep garden beds away from the house entirely.
Too many worry warts. Your house won’t roll over from heaving. It’d be fine but a bit more space makes it more accessible if needed.
