I'm the person mosquitos love and I tried the Mosquito Bucket Challenge – Homegrown National Park last year. Worked great! Got it set up again this year. Thought I would post this in case anyone else reacts badly to bites.

This has helped me do the weeding that I need to do.

They work good but it also depends on your neighborhood
I have a small creek behind my yard so I will always have them
Getting rid of standing water is very important

These mosquito bucket traps are like the one time I can see those tabloid headlines being true.. “the #1 secret pesticide companies don’t want you to know!!”

They’ve been amazing. I’m trying to get my whole neighborhood on board, bc right now they love to spray 😭

I keep one in my back yard, but there is a creek (glorified drainage ditch) nearby so there’s only so much it can do.

I’ve set up three on my yard (side, front, back) and also added a bubbler to my bird bath. Hopeful this year will improve!!

Summit Mosquito Bits and dunks have been a minor miracle for me. They also work against fungus gnats that can infest my potted plants.

It seemed to work for me and then late in the summer, we were visited by this onslaught of tiger mosquitoes. I’ve never seen them before and it was unbearable. Possibly they thrive and breed in the buckets unlike other types? Someone educate me if you know better. I might not do it again.

I set up three in my yard and kept on top of them monthly, but we have so much overgrown ivy in every yard around us, plus all three kinds of mosquitos including the daytime aggressive ones, it really didn’t help in the south. Maybe this year in the severe drought…..
