Don't have experience propping anything! My money tree got knocked over and this bit snapped off so I put it in water. All that I've seen happens is this brown stuff all over. I think it was white to begin with! Should I put it in soil, wait longer, or is it doomed?

How adventurous are you? Put it in soil. Mine was similar. I got tired of waiting and put it in soil. Both are doing fine and rooted shortly.
