I've had a snake plant for about 3 months now and, miraculously, it's doing pretty well (second picture). The pot was getting a bit crowded and I repotted and separated two sprouts from the base of my main plant. I gave one to an equally rookie-with-houseplants friend and she's stressed. I'm 100% sure this is just user error but I'm not skilled enough to tell her what we're doing wrong.
Any tips are appreciated!

They don’t grow fast.
Plants get stressed when change is introduced (like repotting).
Some plants like to be crowded in small containers.
Snake plants thrive on neglect. Pretend like it’s doing fine and it will do fine.
I wouldn’t have separated the pups yet. They need to be at least half the size of the mother plant to do well from what I understand. These also like to be really crowded on their pots. I haven’t removed any of my pups yet on my birds’ nest snake plants for this reason. But, I repotted my emerald star, so they got on the pot better. It also shocks them to be repotted. Time and patience are ur friends now. Don’t overwater. U shouldn’t water for at least a week after a repot.
The soil should be grittier, like for succulents. Does the pot have drainage? You are doing too much, let it get acclimated to your place. Snake plants grow slow, like to be snug in their pots. Give is plenty of indirect Sunlight. These are not fussy type of plants, like other houseplants.
