Ironic (no pun intended lol) you are going over adding iron. I just got some of that to use on some plants. I’d never used it before. Looks super gross. You could definitely play a dirty trick on someone with it. lol I added it to the plant today. Fingers crossed!
Funny that when you mix red to yellow paint it becomes green as well.
I have a question ❓ I have a quick fire fab that has started to leaf out but the leaves are a light lime colour, is this normal or is there something I need to do? It's my first year with it
I was wondering what might be a good replacement for the hydrangeas by the house. What about some shrub Hibiscus? It would be a good fit to also add spring bulbs around , once the bulbs are done the shrub will grow and cover the leaves. Just a thought. Love everything you do. ❤
The grasses by the stream are so pretty!
16:01 trade those hydrangeas with your West side roses!!

My Dear Laura,
You've been such a good gardener wearing your gloves consistently so why not wear them when you're using that sod removing tool? That must've been hard on your hands.
I'm so grateful you shared the iron you use, years ago, we have alkaline soil here too and it helped me save my blue chiffon hibiscus! I am wondering, how would one notice iron deficiency in red foliage? I have quite a few plants with red foliage that I suspect may suffer that way but I can find reference. Always a joy to watch you love your garden! Smiles and blessings…
Did you do the ones at the main entrance gate?
Where can we get the big blue Dramm watering can that you used? I only find the smaller one in your shop.
What are the yellow flowering plants in the water vessel at 27:38? Are they planted in pots and submerged in water?
I bet the iron deficiency is due to all the rain fall.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Laura, just wondering what the lovely yellow shrubs are there behind you at timestamp 9:20-21-22?
Just gorgeous. Can't miss them 😊
I enjoy watching your videos! Thank you for all the wisdom shared! How long did the task of applying EDDHA to all the hydrangeas take? 😊
Why aren't you using 'Electric Lawn Edger and Trencher'? I find them handy for these types of new edging.
I was taught, when applying dry supplements, to water the plants first, let that soak in then add the dry product and water again. The first watering softens the soil for better absorbing. So, if your topsoil is already wet you can skip the pre-watering.
Do the kids have garden chores or do you ever ask them to help? On video, it looks like they just watch you work and don’t really help. It’s just something I’ve noticed the years of watching you garden!
You need more dandelions in your soil, you have no companion plants that's why you're having iron deficiency problems.
Be careful not to get the iron solution on concrete or patio pavers. It stains horribly!
We have very similar soil conditions in Northern Utah. I’m seeing a big association between the plants I fertilize with Espoma and iron deficiency. I’m not sure if the fertilizer allows the plants to utilize nutrients and leads to a worsening effect, but there’s an association for me.
Potless plants and rice hulls. I wouldn’t normally encourage people to watch another channel but Hello Garden went to a plant factory in Canada. Laura and Aaron I think you’ll love the process. I’m going to watch it again. “The secret life of plants on Hello Garden”. “Well I am taking you behind the scenes in Canada @bloomineasy to see the nursery automation and robot gardeners in action! From robotic plant propagation to "potless" plant technology, this is the future of sustainable plant development. Not only is it deeply satisfying watching the action, but what a gift to implement strategies that give baby plants a perfect start! Get ready for the most fun tour of the high-tech systems that bring your favorite varieties to market.”
Any alliums or allium like plants for zone 9?
The price on Amazon for EDDHA from $25 to $100! I'd rather lose that Hydrangea and buy a new one for $15.
Everything is looking so pretty. I especially love the plantings by the water fall ie children’s pond. So peaceful and cool.
Hi Laura! Love your videos 😊 …. Am I being dumb, or have you removed the boxwood hedge from the area where you park your cars at 0:46 ? I could have sworn you plants that up a while ago? Or have I confused the area?
Given the “bloody look” of what’s coming out of your watering can…perhaps you should schedule your Fall application on Halloween…😉👻🧛♂️
When I started watching you many years ago you used to plant a lot of King tut grass. I had never seen it before and used to think it was so exotic. My garden is in Ireland. What about giving it a come back and planting some where you plan to remove the hydrangeas, you could even add in the supertunas that you ordered but can’t remember where they are for.
Did you guys rip out the arborvitaes along the fence near you parking area (around 1:00 in)? I remember you said they were struggling. It would be great to have an update-especially if you know what happened.
What's the spectacular yellow showing off at around 9-9:10 min? WOW!
Thanks for the video, good job Laura.
Your chickens are living a rich and bountiful life! They look so clean and healthy. Don't you wish you had a couple sheep to keep down the horse pasture? The kids would love seeing a couple sheep or goats. They give you free manure for your new compost piles.
Is there a specific look in the yellowing leaves that implies iron deficiency vs. over-watering? I have some yellowing ranunculus, newly transplanted to the garden after lush green growth in the greenhouse. I had assumed it was due to overwatering since our water is high in iron. Thanks for the great video!
Dis you have to use more than one container … that was a lot of plants!!!
I am hoping you plant annuals in front of the house , maybe feature new annuals for this year or ones for next year! Like a showcase! Anything you do will look great but just to keep it open for the new constructon. Sending hugs from Kansas🌻
