I’ve had a monstera deliciosa for close to 10 years now, and recently came to the decision it was time to chop it up as it had stopped growing larger and started regrowing from the base of the plant. I have several cuttings rooting in water, but I realized I may not have cut them in the most ideal way for planting? I’ve never had success transplanting water propagations to soil and want to try and make these ones work.
All of the cuttings I took have pretty long stems, do I need to cut them shorter? Or are there any benefits to leaving them long?
For the cutting with the larger leaf- I know it’s time to probably say goodbye to that big leaf, but my main concern is just how awkwardly this stem had started to grow on the original plant, there’s a new leaf coming out (red arrow) and I’m not sure how to plant/position it best once I take the big leaf off/get it in soil.
Sorry for posting twice but I felt it would be less confusing to split these up by plant!
