That being said, when you put that in water, roots adapt to water, and yes, you can put it in soil, and that root over there will have to adapt to the new environment (water has lots of oxygen, soil has way less).
Be careful not water it too much when you put it in soil cause the plant will have to re-adapt its root to the soil, which can be stressful
