It’s been about a month. Should I keep waiting or try putting in soil?

first of all, the plant doesn’t really know the difference between aerial and regular roots: they just regular roots that adapt to the environment they have around

That being said, when you put that in water, roots adapt to water, and yes, you can put it in soil, and that root over there will have to adapt to the new environment (water has lots of oxygen, soil has way less).

Be careful not water it too much when you put it in soil cause the plant will have to re-adapt its root to the soil, which can be stressful

That is just a root. That’s what they look like when they grow in water.
