Five years since my mom died and I finally got her last remaining African violet to bloom, so a big YAY for that!
What I wasn't expecting was that the bloom is tall (and facing forward, even though the grow light is coming directly from above). The leaves have also started to lose some of their dark green luster, but I just assumed that's because energy is going into the blooming. Anything I can derive from this behavior, or is this all normal?
I assume this is garden variety AV but if anyone happens to know the name, that'd be great. These were my high school colors, so I'm not surprised it bloomed as purple & gold 🥹
