Hardiness zone 9b. So I’m in year two of establishing a re-wilded backyard. I find Green Alkanet to be my biggest enemy…. It grows so fast and removing it is not only painstaking but risks destroying other plants as I have to remove the deep taproots and walk over the area. Any advice on combatting this plant naturally? My worry is committing one big damaging session of removing the taproots and trodding about on the area would be in vain if one of them is missed then it’ll seed or multiply with ease… I have seen caterpillars eat a few of the leaves but it’s just sadly not consistent enough at the moment….

Re-wilding isn’t re-wilding if you don’t like how it re-wilds. Green Alkanet is a fantastic plant for insects.
