Hi! I just got my very first African violet today. The soil is really good and has a fair bit of perlite in it (I got it from a collector) so I was wondering about making a little self watering situation by threading a piece of cotton yarn through its drainage holes and dipping that in water. Thoughts?

Cotton will eventually rot. Nylon is more durable long term. Very cute by the way!
