Hi everyone! I’m looking for some advice on what to do. I just started collecting hoyas and purchased a chinghungensis cutting about a month ago. I’ve had it in water and its been a steady grower, but last week I noticed a peduncle on one of them (and now I think I see two more?). The roots only wrap about halfway through the jar, so I’m hesitant to pot it up for a bit.
I’m wondering why it started producing peduncles, and what I can do to best support it? I didn’t know they could produce peduncles while they’re still babies 😅

It means he’s just happy. I have a Michele that I prop as a cutting and it gave me three dunkles lol she’s still rooting but it’s still going happy as can be.
It’s a cutting so it’s not a baby, it came off of a mature plant so it’s a mature plant. A baby would be a seedling and seedlings need to mature before they can flower. But you could put a little diluted nutrient solution in the water if you’re not ready to plant it. A little bit of bloom booster diluted in some water to like an eighth strength would be fine. I would probably just pot it up if I were you. Good luck it’s so cute!
Just be careful not to knock it off, and otherwise just give it good light and all will be well!
I had the same experience with a tengchoensis cutting prop. The peduncle never became a flower but the cutting is now rotted and growing quite a bit.
My best advice is to mix a little bit of fertilizer in your water prop water so it can feed while growing!!
