That’s a lot of money! Check around at your local rock/stone/landscaping yards. I get 5 gallons for $8.99 (bulk, not in a bag although they have bags if needed), and luckily I can swing by whenever I’m in that area for work which is a few times a month, so there is no shipping charge involved.

The central Arizona cactus and succulent society has a pumice pile sale twice a year. They sell pumice for$5 a bucket. You just have to be a member.

PSA for any other Arizonans. 🤙🌵

Wow that’s crazy, I just got a fill your own 5 gallon bucket for $4.

Similar situation. I can’t find locally sourced stuff either. I have used this company but they are hella expensive.

I would just use perlite at that point, crazy price point.

Im trying 1/4″ pebbles/crushed stone this year. Way way way cheaper than pumice. I’m taking a quantity over quality approach with my san pedro soil.

I hear Build A Soil has the most affordable pumice if you need it shipped.

The thing about this company not a lot of people are taking into consideration; the pumice they sell is screened into precise measurements, which you can choose from. The prices are larger because you are paying for that precision. You can also buy the unscreened for much less, but I don’t have the time or energy to screen all that myself.

Being in Florida with no quality pumice sources available, I use this company because I make all my own soil for pots, and they have a large selection of other soil amendments to choose from. I’ll pay for that convenience as well.

If I was going to redo my entire yard or make a large bed for cacti specific soil, I would definitely use a local source.
