I bought this plant for my grandma 9 years ago, it’s been doing just fine with what I assume is not a lot of thought, and definitely was not replanted. She passed away recently so I’ve taken over its care.

I just replanted it bc I’m not sure why it’s not doing well. I’m wondering if I should have also tried splitting it because it looks like 3 plants. I’m also not sure why the leaves look so splotchy on the outside of each ring.

The leaves are “splotchy” because they are variegated, which a lot of people actually desire. You need to separate out the plants so they don’t crowd each other and can have energy to flower.
