Took a small cutting (maybe 3/4”) from a Starsister Scarlet & Yellow dahlia earlier this season and didn’t expect much from it.
It rooted pretty quickly and once it got going, it really took off. The color on this one ended up being way better than I expected too.
Still kind of amazed how something that small can turn into a full plant like this in one season.
Curious what others think of this variety, and if you’ve had similar results starting dahlias from cuttings? We do many cuttings at our nursery thought we would share this one came out very good. Do others do many dahlia like this from cuttings we have been learning more the last few years and are getting better on doing cuttings. These came from Dummen and they where so small put a bit of root tone on them and used Pro Mix FPX and stuck these in 105 cell trays.
