Scrumptious cakes and decadent bakes are gorgeously presented under glass cloches
Laura Nightingale found Treetops Café at Redfields Garden Centre in Church Crookham
I love a good mooch around a garden centre. Perusing the gorgeous gift and homeware displays and splashing out on a flavoured coffee with cream and sprinkles has become a little hobby of mine.
Plus, my daughter enjoys coming with me as we people watch and share a warm croissant together.
This week, I discovered a café I never knew existed, and it has to be one of my favourite places I’ve visited to date.
Located inside Redfields Garden Centre near Farnham, it takes the shape of a secret treehouse, and we were both amazed when we stumbled across it after a little wander.
Situated in the middle of the Church Crookham garden centre, we climbed a sweeping wooden staircase to reach the eatery, passing a huge tree on our way up.
Light beamed beautifully through the branches and it felt like I was going on a magical jungle adventure with my toddler beside me.
As we reached the top, there was lots of seating available, some sofas which we headed straight to, plus a children’s play area and more foliage to make you feel like you were deep in the rainforest.
Next to the till, there was a phenomenal selection of cakes and sweet treats.
Gorgeously presented under glass cloches, there was lots of mini treats (called a mezze selection) as well as decadent slabs of British classics.
From millionaires shortbread and Bakewell tart, to Dorset apple cake and Victoria sponge, the array was simply divine.
As well as the tempting pastries, there was a big menu full of breakfast and lunch dishes, plus a dedicated kids menu for little ones.
I ordered an oat cappuccino and was wowed by the cute chocolate panda shaped dusting on top.
The café was fun yet quaint, enchanting yet accessible, and it was really suited for customers with children (lift also available).
I gleefully sipped on my coffee while I watched my daughter happily play with toys in the children’s area, and knew I would be back again very soon to try out one, or two, of the scrumptious sweet bakes.

It is a magical spot
