I took these the other day. it’s hard to capture the issue well with a camera and it’s actually worse now. For the last 2-3 months the leaves have been browning more and more. today it looked like over half had browned. I keep it out of direct sunlight, water it 1-2 times per week depending on soil moisture and typically mist it a couple times a week in the evenings. I find the soil it’s in retains moisture so the soil never fully dries.

Does anyone have experience keep this plant healthy?

It’s an Asparagus look up the care. It could be too much water.

Ferns are really tough. They take a whole lot of work and finesse. If you’re new to house plants, ferns are about the hardest to keep. Not to say you can’t do it! But dive deep into Asparagus Ferns and start learning.

    Godspeed.

It’s *Asparagus setaceus*, which isn’t a true fern. It’s related to edible asparagus.

Light should be pretty bright but filtered. Within a foot or two of a bright window should be ok.

Watering should be thorough enough to drain from the pot when the top two or three inches or soil are dry. Don’t use a schedule and keep in mind that most plants don’t need to be watered more than once a week unless you’re in an extremely arid region.

Misting doesn’t raise humidity and often leads to stress-related problems like pests or disease.

    Can you put it outside?

Mine thrives left over in a corner, shaded 😅

*Asparagus plumosus* is a great house plant🪴 I can’t tell from the pics, if it’s in a little plastic pot inside the ceramic pot make sure it’s not sitting in water! Let the top soil to dry out before watering again. I have mine in a south facing window and it seems to do fairly well. Good luck! I love your frog 🐸
Edit to ask—is it planted directly in the ceramic pot and if so does the pot have a hole for drainage?

Asparagus! Not quite a fern. Could be overwatered? Could be temperature issues? Also could just be dying out because that’s what it wants to do just because? Mine went all yellow in autumn, but was growing fresh fronds as well. So I cut down all old yellow growth eventually and we’re regrowing now.

  7. They like lots of humidity. Mine has started to turn yellow because my humidity levels dropped 😔
