Over the years (6 years) my FLF has gone through various phases. It used to be so happy and robust, but over the last few years has gotten leggy and leans dramatically. I’ve always had a full spectrum grow light overhead, in a paper lantern cover and it lives next to a window. Should I top it? I’ve tried notching so many times, and it’s never worked. I want a healthy, more balanced tree. I know I also need to repot it. I used to fertilize it every watering, but fell off in the last year. It used to be so healthy.

Definitely chop it if you’re looking for more growth ! It looks like it’s leaning toward the light from the window so you should probably keep it infront of the window too. You should also look into crazy keiki cloning paste it helped create new vines, branches, and stems on a lot of my plants including my FLF. Just apply some to the nodes on the tree usually around where the old leaves broke off on the trunk/branches and in a couple weeks you should see new growth. Chopping a fig can be really helpful in promoting fuller healthier growth ! Just keep the cutting that you take and put it in wet soil or water it’ll become a whole new tree 😉
