We are based in the southwest of England and our turf lawn was laid last August. We haven't used any fertiliser or weed management products since it was put down. With the weather warming I try to cut the grass more regularly, but these patches grow much faster than the surrounding grass.

It wants nitrogen and the dog pee is providing it

  2. Fertilize and reassess in about four weeks. Those patches are probably dog or animal pee

Dog pee, it’s high in nitrogen. Sometimes too high and you get burn spots, other times it’s just right and you get lush thick grass.

You can water down the areas if it’s your dog after they go or fertilize the rest of your lawn to get it to thicken up.

Pee on the rest of the lawn to make it match

Small female dog visits regularly, if it was a big dog, they would be dead spots
