Hello smart plant people,
I live near the Olympic Peninsula in Washington and have found these all over my yard. For context, they don’t seem to flower, and they’re in an area with salal, huckleberries, and the occasional blackberry I have not found and murdered yet. The previous owner did not care for the property at all for several years, so we’ve found all sorts of weird invasives. One photo contains the start of a blackberry vine for size comparison. The larger yellow plant seems to be a mature version. Thank you for your help!

This looks suspicious, though. It’s probably Gaultheria shallon but I’d want to make sure. Do you have better pictures of the stems and higher res photos of the leaves?
