Gardening box dispute in rural Shuswap grows into physical altercation

A dispute over a planter boxes bloomed into a physical altercation between two neighbours in Chase, with police intervention required.
On the afternoon of April 18 at approximately 4:21 p.m. members of the Chase RCMP responded to a report of mischief on Airstrip Road in Anglemont where “a dispute over damaged garden planter boxes between neighbours had taken root.”
“Before police arrived, the situation escalated beyond gardening concerns, with both parties engaging in a physical altercation,” Const. Sarah Van Wilgenburg added in a media release.
Officers took statements from the victim and witnesses, before the suspect was arrested for assault and mischief and later released on an Undertaking with a future court date.
