I discovered a lovely “tree philodendron” leaf growing in the middle of a vining garden bed at the side of our yard. I was thinking of trying to uproot it and bring it inside. Thoughts on whether I should – and if I do, the best way to do it?

in not an expert by any means but my questions as a biologist are
    1. is this plant native to where you live?
    2. is it invasive?
    3. is it endangered?

otherwise, if it’s on your property you can always try! i’d personally go the route of letting it grow 1-2 more leaves and nodes and then chop and prop it. that way you won’t entirely lose the plant if it fails to take.

ETA I am being told it’s back and reclassified as Philodendron! 💀 Ty to the person below who re-updated me!!!
Just know that it is NOT a Philodendron. This is a Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum. Still an aroid but this is where it gets its colloquial name of “Tree Philodendron” bc Philodendron don’t grow into “trees” like a Thaumatophyllum will in sub and tropical regions.

I’d be willing to bet that under that clump of ground cover just below that leaf is a mound of the original stem that this grew from.
