I’m in the nordics, and i have this one spot in my lawn that always grows better and has a deeper green color than the rest of my lawn. It has always also been over run by clover.

The clover doesn’t really spread outside this area.

The soil always seems to retain water a lot better here, which I guess could be due to the fact that it’s kind of covered by the clover .

Even now during an extremely dry spring it’s thriving while the rest of the lawn is really struggling.

Anyone knows what’s going on here?

Clover provides nitrogen, hence the deeper green and better growing in the spot with it.

Clover is nitrogen fixing so it’s basically feeding the grass around it – thats why everything stays so green in that spot. Could be something underneath like old septic line or where someone dumped organic matter years ago that made perfect conditions for clover to establish first
