it’s indoors, gets around 4–5 hours of indirect light a day, near a south-facing window but no direct sun
I water about once a week until the soil is moist (not soaking). the pot has drainage holes and I let excess water drain out
any idea what might be causing it and how I can fix it before it gets worse?

The damage around the perimeter looks like it’s from the soil staying moist for too long, which can also be related to a lack of light exposure.
How long does it take for the soil to dry out significantly between waterings?
