More than three decades later, the roses are still blooming in Temecula.

The Rose Haven Heritage Garden is awash in color this spring — a special one for the grounds.

As always, the public is welcome to wander the garden to see its more than 2,000 rose bushes and numerous other flowering plant varieties, including native plants and lilies in the lily pond.

But the fall will bring celebrations.

The non-profit Temecula Valley Rose Society, which owns and manages the garden, plans a three-day anniversary celebration for the community from Oct. 16 to Oct. 18.

On Oct. 16, a ribbon-cutting and rededication ceremony will take place.

On Oct. 17, the Families and Community in the Garden event will feature interactive activities, educational demonstrations and chances for guests to enjoy nature.

Commemorative events will end Oct. 18 with the Art, Music, Poetry and Dance event that will bring artists and performers to the venue.

The garden is at 30592 Jedediah Smith Road in Temecula, at its intersection with Cabrillo Avenue.

It’s open every day of the year, from dawn to dusk.
