She was found on the floor with a cracked pot. People think she was feeling too confined and tried to make a run for it. From the look of the roots, that seems right.

I don't have experience taking care of plants, but I wanted to try and fix her up.

I can't see any dirt, other than on the top. The root ball is too dense. Other than one vine, she is also top bald for the first three feet of her vines. The ends look healthy.

From what I researched, I need to:

1) Brake up the root ball.

2) Get her in a good soil.

3) Trim down the vines (possibly use them for propigation)

4) Wrap the one short leafy vine around the base pined to the soil. (To get new vines growing)

To thin out the roots, I think I'll have to hack some off and I'm concerned doing that and trimming back the existing vines (they are 8 feet long) will put her in shock and kill her. The fall ended up cutting off three vines already.

Does anyone have advice on how to proceed?

You’ve got it! Could give it a bath to open the root ball a little or just make a small x in it. Some people will just stick this into new soil and let it do its thing.

Just sticking it in a bigger pot with soil is an option!? Is that the best option?
