  1. It’s normal / not a problem to find some grubs. It’s when they get too plentiful that you have to worry. Spreading treatment on your lawn because you found one grub, in my opinion, is craziness.

One grub isn’t the problem. But if you’re seeing dead patches and had beetles last summer, grub preventers in late June work way better than treating now. Too late this year anyway.

  3. Is there even such a thing as a lawn with no grubs?  I’ve never not seen them in the eastern US.

Also, try trapping the Japanese Beetles. That proved more effective for me than any chemical treatment.

Invite a bunch of raccoons to come dig them up and devour them. It will get rid of the grubs, but I don’t think your lawn will be happy

Kill them , they will turn into African beetles and destroy your lawn

Found a grub? Here in New England I’ve NEVER had a lawn that didn’t have grubs (Japanese beetles are everywhere). Get some GrubEx and treat your lawn. I have to do it every season.

Apply treatment to prevent the *next* cycle of grubs in June (GrubEx)

It’s a grub. It’s works for you and your soil so leave it alone.

If you begin having a problem, then investigate it, but don’t assume you have a problem with grubs because you found one grub. You likely have 100s if not 1000s on your property.

Stomach acid is the preferred method. Chew or don’t, that’s your choice.

I applied Chlorantraniliprole your wanting ground temps around 60-70 for it. During the summer ill apply imidaclorpid. It works wonders and while overall the imidaclorpid has handled most of my grubs i still have some im finding so I will be treating a little more yet. Naturally though since I just applied chlorantraniliprole I am not currently planning on applying any imidacloprid for grubs this summer until they have some time to hatch which really should be june July time but we are getting close

  13. If its your own baby you would just go to the clinic. But need help with bugs?

This is the larvae of a huge amount of beetles and there is little to no way of telling what they will turn into. Many are beneficial to the soil and in turn, your lawn.

Put your grubex or whatever you might use for that down around the middle to end of June. It won’t be a problem. I’m also in 6b

Used Grubex for 3 years in raw and lawn is much better.Had big yellow patches before.

I had this issue recently and did some research. Typically a couple grubs here and there is ok. When the amount per sq. Ft is 8-10+ then you should get treatment.
