I have these three dead spots in my front lawn. I’ve raked them and dug up/flipped over the straggling grass. I would like to start in these areas that are already dead and eventually have no lawn. I want to put something in that will look nice this year and am looking for suggestions of seeds or plants? I was thinking just spreading wildflower seeds but wanted to get advice. Zone 6a

I’d combine these two little spots into a bigger bed I think.
As far as what to plant, looks like a sunny area, maybe some cone flowers and black eyed Susan’s. Those are native to the US.
Check out a local garden center and get their input.
