Just received a couple cuttings of a Florida Ghost Tortum hybrid (alongside micans mint, adansonii mint, and a baby adansonii frozen freckles).

I have the cuttings in a cup of moist sphagnum moss in a closed ziploc bag until I get a better propagation container.

any care tips/propagating tips for this plant? I couldn't find much info online about them.

Sadly the most variegated leaf has some damage to it from grow lights (from before I got it). so hoping to make it as happy as possible!

That’s a Ghost hybrid and not a Beauty x Tortum?

  2. Are you sure it’s not a Florida Beauty x Tortum? Haven’t heard of a Ghost x Tortum, and the variegation I see on your photo definitely looks more like FB.

I haven’t propagated mine, but I do have a FBxT. I’ve propagated Tortum and Florida Beauty though, and they are both easy, hardy and fast-ish growers, so I would expect the hybrid to be the same. I usually propagate in water, so that’s what I’d do, but for sure moss or any other method will be fine.

As for care tips, I gave mine a moss pole, since both my Tortum and my Florida Beauty love them and developed huge root systems in them. Other than that, standard philodendron care, these don’t need extra humidity like melano, and can enjoy direct sunlight unlike some others.
