Under a 10’x20’ patch of MFR, raspberry, wild grape, burning bush, barberry, oriental bittersweet and god knows what else, I found this.
How do I protect it? It was fully shaded, now it’s in full sun. When can I move it to a more suitable location? I so don’t want it to die.

If you don’t want to move the colm yet a mesh wastebasket is a cheap option that can help with increasing the shade while allowing it to still get visited otherwise like most plants they prefer transplants after they’ve gone dormant and it’s cool out.
lol I had literally the same reaction to finding two. There was some long boi coming out of the ground and I couldn’t remember what I planted there or make out what it was and today it finally started to form and I was like OMG. I showed my 4 year old nephew and he was telling everyone about it. It was so sweet.
