Terrified residents watched firefighters race into a Glasgow housing estate after an electric scooter went up in flames in a garden this afternoon.

Crews were called to Kilbeg Terrace in the Arden area at around 1.59pm, with four appliances sent to tackle the blaze in the garden of a house.

A Glasgow Times reader told how they believe the fire started when the batteries on an electric scooter “blew up”.
