Would love to know what to do with my front yard hills. Awful to mow and not safe with riding or push mowing options. Tired of them looking so mossy too

First two pics, my lawn ends when it looks "green" and has consistently green grass.

Second two are the larger part of driveway and bulk of my dilemma.

Thought about just putting in some short shrubs like Japanese Spurge…but one side of driveway is quite large and I can imagine it could get expensive.

Climate: Central Connecticut

Sun/shade: Mostly shades in summer and sun is later in the day and very hot at that point. Front yard is north facing.

Grade: Unknown but pretty steep. Takes good effort to walk up hill and driveway.

Looking for something inexpensive or if I have to spend some $$$, I'd like low maintenance and effort.

Thanks.

Some kind of ivy that way you don’t have to mow it. Ivy up to the flat part of yard with a nice English edge.

Retaining wall and fill it so it’s level. Now you have a yard that’s easy to mow

please not japanese spurge, it is highly invasive

Edit: every spurge may be invasive to the US?

Plant trees that will shade out the grass.

  5. Expensive but you could put in a one or two level retaining wall.
