Hey everyone!
I've been lurking in this group for a while and wanted to share something I've been working on that I think a lot of you will love.
I built a little app called Ripe, it's basically a neighbourhood trading network for homegrown produce. The idea is simple: if you've got a glut of zucchinis or your lemon tree is going crazy, you can list them and swap with other gardeners nearby instead of letting them go to waste.
It's free to use and designed for people exactly like us, backyard growers who want to connect with their community rather than just composting the overflow.
Would love for some of you to check it out and let me know what you think. Still early days so feedback is really welcome!

What a great idea! Will definitely check out the app! š
We just put them in a tub by the fence with a rudimentary sign sating what it is and people come along and grab what they want. Or it goes to our local neighbourhood house’s community kitchen.
We also do it with plants and seedlings. Pretty cool.
In Tasmania you are no longer allowed to unless you pay the gov to inspect your produce, area for growing and soil and be certified. Its really going to hurt a lot of people who sell by the roadside, sell at markets, stalls outside their house
Awesome idea!
Sounds great! In my little hinterland town we have monthly food exchange at the one of the churches – very verdant area.
Mandarin season coming up tho and no-one knows what to do with hundreds of Kg of the damn things š
Some sort of creature is trying to steal your vegetables.
When I have extra, I door-knock the neighbours. They seem to be shocked by being offered something for nothing, but I figure community needs to look after each other.
Perth NOR (north of river). I have a huge backyard, retired early and LOVE vege growing. Always have a surplus and give to neighbours. Iām gonna check this app out and see how it goes.
