You can water from the top also. String of pearls likes a bit more water than regular succulents. Just make sure you water enough till the water runs out the bottom.

~~yeah i was gonna say it actually looks a bit thirsty to me.~~ (edit: not sure how i feel now that ive zoomed in. the wrinkly pearls could be overwatered i suppose. but i wouldnt worry about them.) but i know nothing lol, ive just never managed to kill pearls. as long as the pearls aren’t soaking in water for days, it shouldn’t rot.

i find that with succulents it’s not how much you water them at one time that overwaters them. it’s how often you water them that overwaters them.

so dunk that thing in a tub of water and soak it! just don’t do it every day lol. for pearls, i wait until the pearls start to deflate like a dried sponge, or a ball that’s imploding on itself. that means they’re thirsty.

I am pretty good with string of pearls, as Ive grown and propped my share of them. I water only if my pearsl are pointy ovalish little beads and I soak them for over 45minutes to 1.5 hours. I have mine in a mix of 30%pearlite/70% organic potting soil. It holds water a little longer but still dries out quickly enough to prevent rot. When I got my pearls, they were thin and overwatered. A lot of the pearls were dark green and squishy.
