If I have space, I sometimes setup the new pot and place the pup on there with a rock holding it down. After a week or two I’ll cut the stem and it all done

I just stick the base in soil and water occasionally. These things are tough as nails.
Fun fact: in chile these are called “bad mothers” because they throw their babies out of the pot
