My Monstera Bulbasaur decided to grow a third leg. One root escaped the drainage hole and is heading straight for the water reservoir below.

Do I intervene or let it do its thing? Part of me wants to redirect it back into the substrate before it gets too established down there – repotting could get messy if it grows a whole water root system in the reservoir.

The plant is clearly thriving though (new growth pushing, healthy roots otherwise), so maybe it knows something I don’t.

What would you do?

It’s just a plastic cup so worst case scenario you might have to cut the cup to free any roots that grow. I say let the plant do what it wants

That substrate mix is beautiful, and I love a independent plant who don’t need no wick lol
