Hi ‘posters— did I accidentally do A Smart?
This is a stainless steel sanitary napkin dispenser, the kind you find in public bathrooms, and I found fitting (what appear to be) non-lined baggies. 500 would last me a lifetime. Total cost for both would be around $55 USD.
Money is tight, and this seems much cheaper than indoor composting bins. This would only be in the kitchen for about a week before I take it out to my main compost.
I’m thinking I may even be able to magnetize the bin onto my fridge as it is flat.
Before I buy, what say you all about this setup? Thanks!

I use a gallon cream bucket under my sink.
Its gonna get dirty in there – The paper bags will only do so much.
I feel like regularly cleaning the inside of that bin might be a pain to do. Thats my biggest issue with your plan.
You also do know if its completely sealed. If its not, it could leak onto your floors.
Purchase an actual “in home countertop compost container. Most of them come with filters.
You don’t need the paper bags. Get a normal stainless steel compost bin with the charcoal filters and rinse it out once it starts to get funky. Some municipalities will send you a countertop compost bin for free. I’ve also seen a bunch in my local thrift stores over the years.
I use a coffee can. Fill it up. Take it out and dump on the pile.
I’ve started using my blender as the compost bucket. Fill it, blend it and the poor it in my composter. I don’t cook much during the week so I only have to do it when I make my weekly food
