I am still 3 to 4 weeks away from getting anything in the ground and just wanted to say for all those that have things growing I hope you are enjoying it.

It looks like another day of thumbing through the seed catalogs for me as this is my garden this morning.

Love the optimism! Can’t wait to join you in the catalog trenches soon.

Then there’s the other end of the spectrum that I have to deal with: ground entirely sand and the blazing FL sun fries anything I grow.

I’ll make you feel better. A herd of deer came for dinner last night and ate all my hosta. Out of pots. Right at my back door.

I feel you. I don’t have as long to go. But mid May seems so far away. And my tomatoes really need to go outside.

Holy crap. I was getting pissed we had a frost after our “last frost date” last week. That’s crazy.

I don’t know about lucky – I’m in Seattle and it’s supposed to be 80 next Monday, with no rain in sight! I’m having to water my natives that I specifically planted in the spring so they’d get enough water!

I hope your plants are okay!

Maybe try making a cold frame? They are fun, and then you can grow tough plants like carrots and spinach and have them fresh early.

As someone who gardens in a similar climate, I feel your pain.

There’s a reason we don’t start until the May long weekend.

Yep. Checking in from northern BC… my entire backyard is still covered in 2’ of snow 🫠

Oh, I am absolutely loving my new home weather in the San Francisco Bay area. I’ll have zucchini and tomatoes to eat this week, peppers, cucumber and raspberries are close behind, and then fresh from the tree oranges and lemons any day now. Kumquat just started ripening all around my neighborhood too.

I had a tomato make it through the winter but it was tired so I pulled and replaced it.

My tomatoes outgrew their pots and my garage, so I put them in the ground. But this is in the forecast for the upcoming week. So. There’s that.

    Oh gosh..

Every time I want to leave the south, I remember what living in the north used to entail 😭

    Bless you OP.

I would be so happy in that right now. I’m drenched in sweat
