I’d like for someone to create a native landscaping design plan for me for Zone 8a Chattanooga TN, mostly shade (some partial sun but we have a ginormous Cherrybark Oak that covers the yard).
Our city has an amazing program that will reimburse a percentage for native landscaping. Someone from the city came out, assessed my yard, gave me a list of native plants, and then told me I need to submit a layout plan to the program for planting.
I have no idea how to create this and realistic sizing for plants. I’d love to hire someone to help!
Here is a Canva attempt I did but it feels pretty out of scale.

Check with local garden centers. There’s one in my city that gives you a discount on plants if you pay for design service.
I would post in r/nativeplantgardening as I think you’ll have better luck. There are a lot of people w/ native plant/native habitat services & small businesses in that sub. Perhaps put your city in the title there, too, as zone is pretty irrelevant to native plant gardening & you’re looking for someone familiar w/ your particular ecoregion. Very very cool of your city to subsidize conversion to natives!!!
English ivy is invasive and can take over. Would recommend pulling out. Also try a few different wildflower mixes.
