Is this papaya tree that randomly started growing on its own putting the plumeria at risk at all? Like having both but don’t want the papaya to jeopardize the health of the plumeria

Initially assumed the plumeria would eventually block out most of the sun and the papaya would die off naturally, but the canopy of the plumeria hasn’t been coming in as full after some saltwater flooding (albeit looks like gradual improvement from last year)
