Over the last few weeks a couple of leaves have become really pale and died. Now they’re going brown and the new leaves are growing weird. I watered her every two weeks in the winter, now every ten days or so. I usually put water in the cache pot and let her drink it from below bc when I watered her from above mold was growing on the soil.

When this happened (couple months ago now) I panicked and repotted her using some “universal soil” the plant store gave me and some of those argilla balls.

I’ve started putting her outside in the sun during the day, never goes to less than 15C here and she only gets direct sunlight in the afternoon.

What is happening to my baby😭

[mushrooms](https://planethouseplant.com/why-are-there-mushrooms-growing-on-my-house-plant/) – mushrooms in houseplant soil are harmless to your plant. Because of their life cycle, they may seem to appear overnight. They appear because the conditions were right – usually warm, dark, humid, and moist soil. This is happening probably because the plant is absorbing water more than it can transpire. Transpire means releasing water into air which is something plant does. Its like you are drinking more water than you can sweat.

There could be lots of causes for this for instance high humidity or cool temperature, low light, over watering etc..

    My advice:
    > make sure you only water when the top layer of soil is completely dry
    > Universal soil is usually very dance and that means it is keeping the soil moist all the time. you need chunky airy soil
    > Moving it outside is a good thing. don’t worry about that but more sun isnt equal to more water so dont over water

So dont over water, let the top layer (2-3 inches) completely dry out and if it doesnt dry out even after many days, repot it using airy soil and it will be fine.

Hi! Just to add to the previous comment, the pot holder that is in , it looks kind of deep, it could be interfering with air and sun to get to the bottom part.
