  1. Like worms, they create grub castings, which I figure, without confirmation, is as beneficial to soil as worm castings. I find them at the bottom of my leaf mold piles where they leave glorious black soil, pellet shaped. I add it as fertilizer on my plants or mix it into my compost. Here they are the larvae of green scarab beetles. I feed them to the chickens.
