Today was a "gardening" day 🌱
In February I plucked up the courage to cut the Ficus. It was already over 1 m tall and I wanted it to branch out, to become a beautiful tree.
I got the top and 5 more cuttings.
The top and 2 of them ended up in the water, and the other 3 I put directly in the substrate, hoping that they would take root.
Not everything went perfectly.
❌ I lost 2 cuttings from the ground (they rotted — I clearly did something wrong along the way)
I managed to save the last one at the last minute by moving it into water.
The beautiful part?
The top and another cutting were "hardworking" and made roots that were perfect for planting 🌿
I'm still waiting for the others.
Today, taking advantage of the good weather, I planted the two rooted seedlings. Now they are quietly waiting for their new "house".
I'm very proud of what I've managed to do with them so far 🤍
(and I admit — I'm learning along the way, with good and with bad)
👉How do you root Ficus cuttings? Water💧 or directly in the ground🌱? 🤔
