BRISTOL — The Bristol Garden Club will offer a “Salute to America Tea” featuring “Julie The Garden Fairy” as a guest.
The tea will be held May 19 at noon at Luna’s Banquet Hall at 164 Central St. A light lunch and dessert will be served at noon. Guest Julie Harrison, aka Julie the Garden Fairy, will speak about seasonal blooms in Connecticut at 2 p.m.
“She is a designer who has appeared on TV a lot,” said Carm Valerio, ways and means chair with The Bristol Garden Club. “Guests will learn how to put centerpieces together which will be auctioned off.”
According to the Julie the Garden Fairy Facebook page, Harrison offers “home and garden advice and inspiration. She shares tips on floral design, garden care and home decorating.”
This is the fourth annual tea event the Bristol Garden Club has held. They hold them once a year in May.
“Everybody has a really good time and says that they can’t wait to do it again next year,” she said.
Valerio added this year’s tea event will also be a celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
Tickets are $25. Checks can be made payable to The Bristol Garden Club. They can be mailed to Bristol Garden Club, 48 Maureen Dr., Bristol, CT., 06010. Checks must be received no later than May 3.
