I documented the process of applying 99 isopropyl alcohol to get rid of thrip larvae. I did 3 extremely thorough runs of applying. I took macro shots of before, during, and after. They were still moving after finishing, and did not seem too affected by it. Isopropyl is ineffective. I ended up getting rid of this plant as it was a new one that came with eggs, and in very poor health. I pray none evolved and made it to my other plants.

I tried to treat my monstera thrip infection with alcohol and I ended up having to get captain jacks dead bug brew. So to be safe you can get that and spray your other plants.
Captain Jacks works well if you don’t want the systemic insect control
I have my own mix, they hate it. I had to make a mix to sold my constant anthurium thrip problem i have. At this point their one with each other 🥲 is have also found some on my Alocasia silver dragon.
Yikes! Thanks for the info. Hope you don’t mind sharing…where did you purchase the plant? For all new plants I bring in, I hope my pest management system and quarantine protocols continue to work. I stopped counting after 300 plants.😉 Pet tax paid.🐾🐾
