I struggled with the moss SO much. The measures I took in last two years:
- Spent $2K on taking down a 4-story tree next to the house.
- Aerated
- Multiple lime treatments
- Multiple iron treatments
- Scraping them all, took six hours. 10 big trash bags of 50 lbs each of dead matter.
- Even subscribed to TruGreen for a whole year.
Yet the moss kept coming back, or they were always underneath. If you look closely in the 'BEFORE' pic, you can see the tips of my grass was pale and wilted. It smelled fishy too.
You know what hte problem was all along? Fertilizer. Jesus. I put down Scott's triple action, and they all just went away.
The soil was just too lean. which made it ideal for moss.
I will now do the 4-step Scott's from now on.
