SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Dozens gathered at the Victims Memorial Garden in Phelps Grove Park on Thursday to honor crime victims in Greene County.
The Greene County Prosecutor’s Office, law enforcement, and other advocates organized the annual ceremony. Each year, new bricks are placed in the garden. Each one is engraved with the name of someone taken too soon.
At least seven new bricks were added to the memorial garden this year.
The Victims Memorial Ceremony is held every spring, but the garden where the bricks lie is open to the public every day.
