Hello! This is an update post on the worsening condition of my (Edwardsiana x Rajah) x Candy Dreams seedling. I purchased it (my first seedling of its size) about 6 weeks ago (Photo 2), acclimated it for ~2 weeks via the bag method, and have since kept it at 70-80% Humidity, 73F during the day and 62F at night. Despite my other, larger nepenthes being very happy in this state, this little man is having none of it (Photo 1). I really don't want to lose what could be an incredible hybrid.

It’s worsening? Looks pretty good to me idk what the issue is. It’s green and putting out pitchers so kinda confused.
Sometimes some seedlings just arent meant to be man. You could do everything right and the baby will still just end up dying because thats how it is both in a lab and in nature. Idk much about breeding and growing highland seedlings but from what i know about basic gardening is that seeds wont always produce viable offsprings, not saying its like a low chance youll succeeded but rather 10% of the time some seedlings just dont make it. You go through the first round of germinating to weed out the babies that do make it then the second round of seeing which seedlings actually make it past the first few weeks of growth until you finally have an established baby. Ik you probably know this but for the newbies this is important as well. That being said i cant really tell you anything about highlands but from my perspective with the night time drops id say its still hanging in there but i feel like the temp drop needs to be a little more to 50° from what ive read about highlanders
Idk anything about savage gardening but I thought this was a picture of a delicious curry/biryani takeout
Just keep it moist, not wet, in good light. Shipping, and acclimating can stress them, as I’m sure you know. Goodluck fellow nepenthes lover. 🤞🙏
I’d put that back in the bag or in a dome setup and I’d leave it like that for quite a while.
