I have this stuff everywhere. The roots are like threads so it’s not really secure to the ground. The leaves are very sticky, due to texture not sap. It is not Sweet Woodruff but looks similar. It can grow tall, 2’ maybe more. How do I get rid of it?

It’s goosegrass or sticky willies, can’t remember the proper name because the common names are too funny.

Edit: it’s Galium aparine, not quite as memorable or funny.

Really enjoying the common names from wikipedia:

“Galium aparine is known by a variety of common names in English. They include sweetheart, hitchhikers, cleavers, clivers, bedstraw, (small) goosegrass, catchweed, stickyweed, sticky bob, stickybud, stickyback, sticky molly, robin-run-the-hedge, sticky willy, sticky willow, stickyjack, stickeljack, grip grass, sticky grass, bobby buttons, whippysticks, and velcro plant.”

A few people have posted that they’re edible.

The nice part is it’s super easy to pull and kids can help since it’s so easy to identify. Fun to throw at each other and make it stick to each others clothes.

Cleaver. I think it pulls out easily. Wear gloves as the Velcro like texture will start to tear up your skin. Once it goes to seed they will stick all over fabric. The seeds do contain caffeine, however.

Cleavers. Edible if ya wanna find recipies for them. A really good herb, just don’t eat them raw
