Landscapers did my spring clean up and mulching today. They kind of crushed my Solomon’s seals, buried my hostas, and roughed up my sedum and iris. Is this standard work and my plants will bounce back in a couple weeks? Or is this a sloppy job?

Sloppy and careless. This is the job quality I’d expect done by a pissed off teen that doesn’t want to be there not a professional. Your plants will live just will look funny while the damage is visible.

Did they divide some of these plants? Some plant foliage can break or get crushed a bit in the division process, but there certainly shouldn’t be any mulch covering any leaves. Most of this should bounce back, division could explain some of this, but it looks like there was at least one rough and careless person, or maybe someone inexperienced on the crew. I’m not a complainy person, but I might reach out to your contact there and let them know that one of their employees is an elephant.
