I’ve had it for about 3 years. I know it’s a succulent of some sort but what kind and does it grow naturally heart shaped?

  1. hoya kerrii, unfortunately if you’ve had it for 3 years and it hasn’t grown any new leaves it most likely was just a leaf that the store stuck in some soil that had no node 🙁

Even if it’s just a leaf I would keep it. So cute and obviously wants to live.

This is a Hoya Kerrii leaf cutting.

Hoya Kerrii is normally a slow growing succulent vine with heart shaped leaves, however its rather unusual in that leaf cuttings can grow roots, but usually do not regrow a stem without part of the original stem. Thus most of these are often “zombie leaves” that are alive, but are unable to grow. With good care they can live for many years but eventually have an expiration date unless a stem regrows.

I found a solid-green Hoya Kerrii with stems. It was touch and go for a while, unclear if it was going to survive. But now it’s taken off! It is a slow-growing plant though.

I don’t know why other commenters are acting like this is a disappointment, I think a single heart plant is so cute! I would even prefer to just have it stay a single heart ☺️ I love compact succulents
